Had to replace the throttle tube because it was cracked and broken before. MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT IN DRIVEABILITY OF THE BIKE! It is night and day. This thing is properly sweet now. COnfident down low, smooth in the middle but you rev it up over 7k and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh I’m still within the speed limit.......But also in 3rd gear, so that works!
There’s the broken tube on the bike once I took it out. Bitch of a job. Especially with earwigs EVERYWHERE on the bike. I had to fumigate my bike twice to get it rideable....
Once it was all fixed, I hit the streets for a while. Revved at all the girls, chit chatted with other riders at lights, and hit up a parking lot for a solid half hour of low speed turn and lean practice. The shocks are definitely worn, but the bike is still responding very smoothly, even mid-turn over minor imperfections I have confidence in its stability. Working the friction zone and holding the throttle steady make those 10-20mph turns a breeze.
I then got hungry yet thirsty.....So I got ice cream. It was amazing. And got to meet up with some locals who knew what a nighthawk was. A few of them had their own. Might have found some riding buddies! But the sun was going down so I decided to make a quick blast over to a nearby store for a bottle of scotch. I had the best parking at the place. Overall? Amazing night on 2 wheels :)
